YSATT
(pronounced Why Sat), is the non profit, umbrella organization for the foreign
yacht tourist industry in Trinidad & Tobago. Our members encompass
businesses or persons who have an active interest in the yachting industry,
boatyards, suppliers, contractors, etc.
YSATT
was established in 1994 by the boatyards and marinas within the Western
Peninsular of Trinidad, to ensure the proper and controlled growth of the
yacht service industry in Trinidad & Tobago. In October 1996
YSATT
extended its membership to include contractors, retailers, suppliers,
affiliated members, and services related to the yachting industry.
In 1995
YSATT
officially employed a full-time secretary and opened an office in 1996.
In 1998 YSATT
moved to a central location to better cater the yacht tourist industry.
YSATT's
functions include lobbying and liaising with government agencies, providing
tourist information such as maps, brochures and advice on places in interest,
working closely with Customs and Immigration to smooth entry and clearance
procedures (we provide substantial funding for their offices at CrewsInn),
providing an employment file and environmental awareness. The organisation
also encourages training and provides members with statistics and other
relevant information pertaining to the yachting industry.
YSATT
also screens and monitors its members on a continuous basis.
We provide a compliments and
complaints forum about members from clients, which provide us with information
on the performance of our members. Ultimately this enables us to improve
the standards of workmanship and customer service relationship.
Therefore, when dealing with a
YSATT
member you are provided with reasonable assurance that the goal of the
contractor or business is to ultimately achieve a professional standard.
So, whenever possible we advise you to choose a
YSATT
member. Should there be a problem involving a member of
YSATT,
the visitor is assured of a hearing and a process of problem resolution.
The
YSATT
office is situated in the Shipwright Building, CrewsInn Hotel & Yachting
Centre, Chaguaramas .
